Kim Kardashian (Splash News)Kim Kardashian caught plenty of flack this week (as tends to happen to a rich girl who got super famous thanks to a reality show she got after making a sex tape) for a remark she made in a recent interview with the U.K.’s The Guardian. In it, the 31-year-old made a comment many construed as comparing her struggles (televising her wedding, splitting from the groom 72 days later) to … the struggles of someone with cancer?

We at omg! weren’t convinced that’s what she actually meant by the statement, but you can decide for yourself. Here’s what she said in the interview, addressing the topic of whether she felt pressure to televise her wedding for her reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”: “Not really. We [were] done filming our season at that point, so we decided to film for the wedding. And that was a decision that he and I made together. But I think that, with any decisions in life, like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She’s 18. And I was like, that’s how I feel.”

Dozens of media outlets picked up the story, running catchy headlines such as “Did Kim Kardashian compare her televised wedding to cancer?” and the like. Many people took to Twitter to bash the millionaire reality star. And still others waged a campaign to boycott cable’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”On Friday, Kardashian herself attempted to set the record straight, publishing a statement on her blog explaining that something she said was “taken way out of context, as is often the case with quotes pulled from interviews … I told of how I had called a female fan who was battling cancer, and she told me how she had watched the show and seen how I had faced my own struggles, and had been inspired by how I had found the courage to change a situation that was making me unhappy,” the reality star wrote. “She told me how her life had completely changed when she was diagnosed, and a lot of friends had deserted her, which is something I said I could relate to. In no way was I comparing my own experiences to that of a cancer patient. I was merely talking about how there are times in your life, and everyone goes through them, when you find out who loves you enough to stand by you through thick and thin.”

She continued: “Many of you know that my father [O.J. Simpson’s defense attorney Robert Kardashian] passed away from cancer, and my grandma is a cancer survivor. This is a disease that has brought so much pain and heartache to our family and I would never want to offend or upset anyone who was battling cancer, or whose family members were battling or had passed away from cancer. What I said in the interview was misconstrued and I wanted to explain to you all what the context was around my phone call with this girl. Xo.”

For now, the user comments on her blog in response to the statement page are mostly supportive. (She did, after all, sign off with “Xo.”) But when you’re Kim Kardashian, you’ve got to brace yourself for the next media hailstorm. And it’ll be here soon enough, we’re sure.

As the world now knows, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana‘s youngest son, 27, was caught on camera frolicking with a naked girl after a game of strip billiards. The woman who appears in the photos with Harry has yet to be identified.

Reichert had seen the royal redhead earlier that evening near the swimming pool at the Encore At Wynn Hotel. When she arrived in his “high-roller suite” later that night, Reichert says, “alcohol was flowing.”

“Harry was already undressed. It was just crazy. He looked actually delirious. There was a pool table and he was ­playing air guitar with pool sticks. He was screaming out, ‘Somebody get me a glove! I’m going to do a Michael Jackson impression!'”

“He would just randomly walk up to you and hug you,” Reichert adds. “He was just really friendly and there were just really ­random naked hugs. It was funny.”

According to Reichert, Prince William‘s younger brother wasn’t the only one who disrobed. There were girls naked. The guys were half dressed. . .It was like almost a game. He was trying to get everybody to get naked. That was the whole point of him being naked. . . He was screaming out, ‘Everybody get naked!’ Just randomly doing crazy stuff. He was pressing his body up against the window and saying, ‘Look at me, Vegas!'”

After Harry got her alone, Reichert says, “We kissed for 15 to 20 minutes . . .We kissed again and he said, ‘That was great.’ He told me I was beautiful and ­gorgeous, which was sweet. Then we kind of nonchalantly returned to the party and kept drinking.”

Harry has since returned to his native England; the Palace has not yet commented on his wild weekend in Sin City.

The Israeli supermodel has been spending time with snowboarding gold medalist Shaun White. The pair have been linked since May, when they met at Maxim‘s party celebrating Refaeli landing the top spot on the magazine’s annual Hot 100 List. The blond beauty, who dated Leonardo DiCaprio on and off from 2006 to 2011, graces the pages of Maxim again in its September issue, where she talks about what she looks for in a man.

“Teeth are the first thing I look at,” the 27-year-old says. “Let’s just say that with today’s orthodontists, I don’t understand why people wouldn’t fix them. A nice smile with beautiful teeth is the most attractive thing.”

Perhaps intimated by her looks — or the fact that her job title is supermodel — Refaeli has said that men rarely ask her out. But if a guy had enough confidence to approach her, her one tip would be for him to just be himself. “If someone is funny, he should say something funny. If someone is sweet and gentle, he should talk that way. Just be yourself,” she says. “I don’t like when guys act too cool for school. Like, the other day I was at the airport and there was a cute guy who I saw notice me. But instead of coming up to me, he put his head down and started texting to appear like, ‘Oh, I didn’t even see you!’ I was like, ‘If you really were cool, you’d just be yourself and talk to me.'”

While Refaeli has her own line of underwear, Under. Me, she says that giving lingerie as a present is a little tricky. “It’s a very cute gift, but you can only do that if you really know your girlfriend,” she says. And it’s out of the question on a first date. “No, no, no, I don’t think so! You need to know her and what she likes.”

And the most important thing men should know about the opposite sex? “If you can’t understand them, just give them a hug,” she says. “That always works.”

In the photo spread accompanying her interview, Refaeli strikes many sultry poses, which will certainly have readers considering which of her assets is their favorite. So what does Refaeli consider to be her best asset? “My stomach is hard, and I’m very proud of it,” she says. “I still eat, though. To me that’s one of the best things in life.”

Russell Brand gets meaningful new tattoo, admits to still craving drugs

The tat, which runs the length of his right forearm, reads “Lord, make a channel of thy peace,” a line from the St. Francis of Assisi prayer, which is often recited at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and is also included in the AA book, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.

Brand has spoken in detail over the years about his battles with drugs and alcohol, which included an addiction to heroin he kicked a decade ago. The British actor is also the subject of an upcoming BBC documentary, “Russell Brand: From Addiction to Recovery,” set to air in the U.K. later this summer. In one of the scenes, Brand watches an old video of himself smoking heroin on the floor of an apartment, and reveals he does still indeed have cravings and occasionally wishes he could go back to his drug-using days. “I’m jealous of me then,” the 37-year-old says in the documentary. “It doesn’t make a difference to me. The money, the fame, the power, the sex, the women — none of it. I’d rather be a drug addict.”

Brand has put his tough life experiences to good use, however, and in April testified in front of British Parliament, urging for more compassion for drug addicts. “For me, what is more significant is the way we socially regard the condition of addiction,” he said to a special committee. “It is something I consider to be an illness, and therefore more of health matter than a criminal or judicial matter.”

As for his new tat, it replaces an old one: the matching Sanskrit ink he got with now ex-wife Katy Perry, which he promptly got removed less than three months after the couple announced their split in December. No word on whether or not Brand is jealous of the formerly married version of himself.

After taking swipes at the Material Girl on a few occasions over the years, the “Tiny Dancer” singer leveled his most bitter blow at her in an August 5 interview with Australia’s Channel 7, during which he gave his thoughts on the 53-year-old’s MDNA tour, which has been rife with controversy (Madonna flashing the crowd and using a gun as a prop) and low with ticket sales.

“She’s such a nightmare,” said John, 65. “Her career is over, I can tell you that. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger [expletive]. If Madonna had any common sense, she would have made a record like Ray of Light, stayed away from the dance stuff, and just been a great pop singer and made great pop records, which she does brilliantly. But no, she had to prove that she was like … and she looks like a [expletive] fairground stripper. And she’s been so horrible to [Lady] Gaga,” he added about his friend, who also happens to be his 19-month-old son Zachary’s godmother.

The feud between Madonna and John first began in 2004 when he accused her of lip synching during her live performances. Then this past January, when both were nominated for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes, they traded barbs on the red carpet about their competition. After John said that Madonna “hasn’t got a f—ing chance” at winning, she responded with, “Oh damn him … may the best man win.” And when she did, all hell broke loose. John’s husband David Furnish unleashed his fury on his Facebook page after the awards ceremony. “Madonna. Best song???? F–k off!!!” he wrote in a post he later deleted. “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”

Two weeks later, John skewered Madonna once again when talking about her Super Bowl halftime performance. During an interview he did to promote his Pepsi commercial, which aired during the big game, he was asked to give the singer advice. His snarky response? “Make sure you lip sync good.”

When 19-year-old Miley Cyrus announced her engagement to Liam Hemsworth in May, there were more comments about her marrying at such a young age than there were actual congratulations. But the former Disney star isn’t listening to her critics. “Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with,” she says in the September issue of Marie Claire. “I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.”

It took breaking up “once or twice” for Cyrus to realize that the “Hunger Games” hunk was the real deal. She says she initially thought she was too “young and immature” to be in such a committed relationship with Hemsworth, who is three years older. But, she adds, “At some point you realize these people you’re hanging out with are your ‘party friends’; they’re not going to give a s–t about you in 10 years. Then you remember who you really want around you.”

After getting back together, Cyrus and Hemsworth began talking engagement and she even looked at some rings online. Still, she says that when he did get down on one knee at the 8,000 square-foot Mediterranean-style home they share outside of Los Angeles (which used to belong to her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, who now live two doors down), it was a “complete surprise.” And the Australian native did a good job picking out the ring. The 3.5-carat Neil Lane diamond set in a yellow-gold band with filigree detailing is similar to one she says she saw online and liked. “I just love that it’s old and has a story,” Cyrus gushes. “And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear.”

Becoming Mrs. Liam Hemsworth isn’t the only thing that Cyrus is looking forward to these days. The former “Hannah Montana” star is also working on a new album, which she claims will blow her pop star reputation out of the water, with Pharrell Williams. The hip-hop producer reached out to the teen after her Salvia incident in December 2010 when a video surfaced online of Cyrus smoking the legal hallucinogenic plant while at a party, and she was slammed for shattering her Disney good-girl image. “Pharrell said, ‘Don’t be offended because this is how I talk, but [I thought], That b—h is actually living,'” recalls Cyrus. “‘She’s not sitting there with her Momager’s chain on her door. I want to free that bitch. I want her out of her cage.'”

The “Can’t Be Tamed” singer then spent four weeks at Williams’ Miami studio, where they recorded a handful of autobiographical songs, which she considers her best to date. “I was talking to [Williams] like he was an older brother, and everything I said was going onto the track,” says Cyrus. “[I told my new manager, Bruce Flohr], ‘I don’t need the money. I don’t care if I make a dime on this. Let me make a good record.’ I got in there with Pharrell, and it was magic. Oh, dude, I’m so happy.”

But while Cyrus claims she doesn’t care if she makes any money on her upcoming album, she’s certainly grateful for the big bucks she’s made on past projects. “You always see the 70-year-old man driving the Bentley. He’s saved up his whole life and now he’s going to do something crazy,” she notes. “Liam and I are really lucky because young people usually can’t afford to do the things we do. You should be driving a Bentley when you’re young and hot. That’s when you look dope!”

For $168 (plus tax), fans will get a 3.4-oz. spray, a 1.7-oz. spray (so you can travel anywhere with the magical scent of Bieber), hair mist (!), and touchable body lotion (as opposed to the kind you can’t touch). But wait, that’s not all! Bieber’s perfume bundle also includes his new album Believe that comes out June 19 and, most importantly, a ticket to the teen dream’s concert at the Apollo. Can you hear the squeals already — or is that you?

Bieber, 18, kicked the craziness off on Sunday with a tweet about the secret show. By the time Macy’s Herald Square opened Monday, more than 200 fans were waiting — some who’d been there all night, according to The New York Times. More than 300 tickets had been given away by 11 a.m. ET, which means that the perfume that hit stores today is selling incredibly well in at least one Macy’s location.

The concert is just one of many impromptu shows Bieber has given while promoting his new album. Selena Gomez’s man serenaded fans from a balcony in Paris earlier this month, and Thursday met with Beliebers camping out to see him take the stage on the “Today” show on Friday. He also caused a near-riot in Norway while giving a free concert last month. Nineteen fans were hospitalized and 49 were injured! Another 200,000-plus people showed up for a free show in Mexico on June 10. Finally, on Saturday he sang his song “Baby” on the steps of the Avon Theater in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, just like he did before he was discovered on YouTube.
