Kerry Washington vs. Jessica Biel — Fashion Faceoff

Guess what? It’s time for another good ‘ol fashion faceoff! And Jessica Biel and Kerry Washington are the two lovely ladies who happen to find themselves going head to head in this week’s who-wore-it-better battle.

Biel, who we’ll soon be able to call Mrs. Justin Timberlake, stepped out in the Christian Dior Resort 2013 frock first at the 2012 ESPY Awards in July. The “Total Recall” actress looked almost ballerina-like in a white version of the dress — clearly, she’s got wedding bells on the brain — which accentuated her tiny waist. A retro ponytail, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes (featuring a fun neon yellow heel), and a huge diamond engagement ring completed the 30-year-old’s simple-yet-chic ensemble.

In August, Washington, 35, sported the same Dior design in pink — perfect for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s 2012 Installation Luncheon in Beverly Hills. Soft curls, bright magenta lips, and pointy nude Christian Louboutin “Pigalle” pumps rounded out the “Scandal” star’s pretty-in-pink look.

This is a tough decision, as both women look gorgeous in the girly frock. But, for me, it all boils down to the color. While Biel is stunning in the crisp white dress, the pink version just pops a little more (thanks in part to the red stripe, which accentuates the frock’s voluminous skirt) and complements Washington’s skin tone nicely. Don’t get me wrong — Biel is certainly a stunner — but I’m declaring a victory for Ms. Washington this time around. Do you agree?

Jennifer Lawrence goes to the birds

Looking svelte and sexy, the “Hunger Games” star posed in a variety of aviary-inspired pics in the October issue, complete with over-the-top costumes, headgear, and a variety of birds.

Lawrence looks older than her 22 year in the pics, but being able to morph into a character of a different age is something she’s used to. In the year’s critically-acclaimed breakout hit “The Hunger Games,” she played teen Katniss Everdeen, and in the upcoming drama Silver Linings, she portrays a widow.

“People always worry that I’m wrong for the part: I’m usually too young — or, in the case of Katniss, they thought I was too old. I was blonde, and Katniss is brunette,” she shares in the interview that accompanies the photos. “So many problems. There were a lot of things that we just brushed under the rug.”

“The Hunger Games” may have made her a recent super star, but when Lawrence hit the red carpet of the 2011 Oscars, no one knew she had been cast in the yet-to-be-shot film. A certain proud relative, however, gave away the news. “My mom talked about ‘Hunger Games’on the red carpet at the Academy Awards, which was something I had told her a million times not to do,” says Lawrence. “She’s like Dina Lohan! — but she has good taste.”

Charlize Theron vs. Kim Kardashian — Fashion Faceoff

Kim Kardashian is at it again! The “Keeping Up With Kardashians” doll has stepped out in yet another dress that a star has stunned in before. But this time, the frequent Fashion Faceoff competitor might have chosen the wrong woman to copy. Kardashian wore the same strapless red Lanvin peplum dress that Oscar-winning actress and former model Charlize Theron strutted her stuff in just three months ago. Perhaps Kim, a former celebrity stylist, should hire a stylist of her own to prevent this from happening in the future? In the meantime, let’s decide … who wore it best?!

Theron, 37, impressed in the dress at the MTV Movie Awards on June 3 in L.A. The 5’10” actress, who once revealed to Marie Claire magazine that she likes “very classic, simple clothes,” completed her sophisticated look with gold sky-high Jimmy Choo sandals and a gold Cartier bracelet.

Kardashian flaunted the frock when she appeared on “The View” on Wednesday. The 31-year-old, who also donned red stilettos by her fave designer Christian Louboutin, was wearing the dress while “The View” co-host Barbara Walters asked her some pointed questions about her past with soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries and her future with famous beau Kanye West. Referring to West, Walters asked, “Having said that; what about marriage? Do you want his child? Where are we?” Kardashian answered, “Technically, I mean I’m still married… In a perfect world, when you find someone that you really feel like is your perfect match [you get married].” And kids? “At the space that I am in life now, kids is definitely something that I want,” Kardashian said. “I think I wanted that before and I think I, you know, I fell in love so quickly and wanted that to be my life so badly, but I just didn’t take the time to find someone [right for me].” (Does that mean we’ll eventually see Kardashian in a special maternity edition of Fashion Faceoff?!)

At the moment, there are no signs of a baby bump for either Kardashian or Theron, who adopted her son Jackson in March. Both ladies have fabulous physiques! However, this dress is clearly a better choice for the willowy Theron than the curvacious Kardashian. The dress also appears to be a little snug on the reality star, while it hangs on Theron in the same way it would … well, a model. Still, Kardashian does get credit for choosing a color that really complements her complexion, although it’s not enough for her today. Better luck next time, Kim! Theron is the winner of this Fashion Faceoff. Do you agree?

First look: Natalie Portman’s unusual wedding dress

Natalie Portman at her Aug. 4 wedding (FameFlynet)At some of the biggest events in her career, Natalie Portman has donned show-stopping gowns by Rodarte. So when it came to the most important day in her personal life — marrying dancer Benjamin Millepied in California’s Big Sur over the weekend — she again turned to the fashion label, which is run by her longtime friends, sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy. The result? A conservative, rather understated creation, which seemed to fit in well with the overall vibe of the nuptials.

While many Hollywood types tend to go for something more over the top on their wedding day, the 31-year-old actress beamed in the unadorned white, A-line style dress that was tea length with a layered bottom, and featured a sheer overlay that modestly covered her arms and chest. She accessorized the gown with a simple white floral crown, a veil, and nude-colored flats.

The 45-minute ceremony took place under the moonlight on a bluff that overlooked the ocean. The bride’s Jewish faith was reflected with the chuppah made of twigs, prayer shawl, and Millepied breaking glass as guests cheered “Mazel Tov!”

One hundred family members and friends, including Ivanka Trump and Macaulay Culkin, attended the reception at a private residence, where they noshed on vegan dishes, selected by Portman who follows a strict vegan diet. Instead of wedding cake, guests were served a sweet treat from Millepied’s native France: macarons. Portman and Millepied, who met on the set of “Black Swan” and have a 1-year-old son Aleph, danced the night away, including a 20-minute traditional hora.

It was the first time the reclusive Culkin, a friend of Portman’s since they were both child stars in New York City, has been seen following a tabloid story claiming he was addicted to heroin. A rep for Culkin, who has been dabbling in a new profession as a deejay, denied the claims.

Portman has worn gowns by Rodarte on many occasions through the years, including the night she won the Best Actress Academy Award in 2011 for her role in “Black Swan.” (Rodarte also designed Portman’s tutu for the movie.) While she was pregnant that year and opted for a more conservative style, in 2009 she wore a sexy Rodarte number to the Oscars — a bright pink strapless gown with a flowing bottom.
